On Saturday, May 15, chiropractic offices worldwide will participate in the 10th annual “Kids Day America/International,” a Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness Day. Dr. Philip R. Schalow will sponsor the event locally at Rainbow Academy from noon until 3 p.m. Rainbow Academy is just south of the Wal-Mart on Forest Hills Road.

Dr. Schalow will provide essential information on crime prevention, child safety, and environmental awareness. The Rockford Police Department will donate special Child identification cards to every child who attends and will be on hand to provide free fingerprinting of all children.

Watch for a special appearance by “McGruff the Crime Dog,” who will be joined by Spiderman and Sponge Bob Square Pants. The fire department is bringing their fire truck and will teach fire safety to the children.

Dr. Schalow, in cooperation with Dr. Stephanie Wilde, Dr. Jason Croxford and Dr. Brenda Baer, will provide free spinal exams and scoliosis screenings, and will distribute vital information on disease prevention and specific health issues that affect children.

“We will also provide free balloons and snacks. There will be special giveaways and prize drawings every half hour,” said Dr. Schalow. “We will also gladly accept your generous donations for Special Olympics and Discovery Center Museum, which will help to enable them to continue their efforts for bringing knowledge and opportunity to children. My staff and I invite all of our friends and neighbors to join us at this unique, fun-filled community awareness event.”
