Christian entertainment at OTW’s ‘The Family Station’

Total Living Network TV51, Rockford’s local Christian television station, will partner with WGSL Radio 91 for its fifth year to host “The Family Station” at On the Waterfront, Sept. 1-3 in downtown Rockford.

This year, “The Family Station” entertainment venue will feature a wide variety of both country gospel and black gospel performances. Other music genres at TV51’s stage will include Celtic, Latin and praise and worship including bands, soloists, quartets, choirs and winners from TV51’s Inspiration Sensation.

Also, there will be a live singing competition called the “Church Challenge” at 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 3, where 12 pre-selected contestants will compete on stage singing one song of their choice. The audience will vote and determine the winner that evening. The winner will receive a recording session with The Upper Room Studio, an interview and airing of his or her song on Radio 91, and a trophy.

Also, performing at 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 3, will be Eddie Tucker—gospel singer, songwriter, producer and music director of TV51’s Inspiration Sensation. Greatly respected throughout the industry, Tucker has worked with other famous artists including Keith Staten of Commissioned, Montell Jordan, M. C. Hammer, R. Kelly and Juanita Bynum. Tucker recently came out with an R&B, gospel album,Day and Night.

Friday, Sept. 2: 6 p.m.—Sapphire Song; 7 p.m.—New Life Praise Band; 8 p.m.—Calvary Praise Band

Saturday, Sept. 3: 1:30 p.m.—Clan McAlpine Pipe Band; 2 p.m.—Little Nashville; 3 p.m.—Trinity; 4:30 p.m.—Professions of Faith & Circle of Friends; 6 p.m.—Turning Point; 7 p.m.—Silver; 8 p.m.—Keith Manley Band

Sunday, Sept. 4: 4 p.m.—New Royal Travelers; 6 p.m.—Church Challenge (Live Singing Competition); 8 p.m.—Eddie Tucker, Stephanie Goldsmith & other Inspiration Sensation stars
