Church hosts garden bazaar, bake sale

Court Street United Methodist Church, 215 N. Court St., will host a Garden Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday and Saturday, May 19-20.

Hundreds of geraniums, coleus and ivy, perennials and garden-related crafts such as birdhouses, decorated flower pots, painted chairs, etc., will be for sale. A bake sale will also be held.

A silent auction, with items donated by area businesses, will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday. Bidding will stop at noon, Saturday, and winners need not be present because they will be contacted by phone.

Both days will feature an eat-in or carry-out luncheon with Court Street’s award-winning barbecue sandwiches, voted best entree at last year’s On the Waterfront Festival. Cost of the luncheon is $5, which includes a barbecue sandwich, chips and pop.

Admission to the bazaar is free.

The sanctuary of Court Street United Methodist Church will be open for those interested in viewing the landmark.
