City of Rockford Employees Community Blood Drive set

The Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC) will hold a City of Rockford Employees Community Blood Drvie from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5

A bus will be parked at the South entrance of Rockford City Hall, 425 E. State St., Rockford.

It’s the day after the Super Bowl, who wants to work?

The Rock River Valley Blood Center is the sole supplier of blood and related services to OSF Saint Anthony, Rockford Memorial, SwedishAmerican, Beloit Memorial, Edgerton Hospital and Health Services, Freeport Health Network, Mercy Harvard, Northwest Suburban Community and Rochelle Community hospitals. Community-minded volunteers donate virtually all of this country’s supply of blood for transfusion.

RRVBC needs 900 donors each week to adequately serve the patient transfusion needs of the nine community hospitals they serve.

Most people are eligible to donate. Eligible donors include those people at least age 16 (in Illinois with parental consent) or 17 (in Wisconsin), who weigh a minimum of 100 pounds and are in general good health.

For more information, contact RRVBC at 965-8751 or toll free at 866-889-9073.
