American Idol season two runner-up Clay Aiken performed Aug. 23 at the MetroCentre in the downtown River District. Aiken recently concluded a tour with Idol season one winner Kelly Clarkson. His boyish looks and pleasant attitude have earned him the nickname Americas Sweetheart. Following on the heels of his successful single, Solitaire, Aikens first album, Measure of a Man, debuted in October 2003. Driven by the hit single Invisible, the album quickly climbed to the top of the charts. Opening for Aiken was French-born 19-year-old Cherie (upper right photo), who released her self-titled debut album Aug. 3.
