The Barbara Olson Center of Hope will rock the Rockford Speedway June 8 with the Seventh Annual Rock for the Center.
The high-energy benefit concert will feature local bands Fusion, Missing Links, The Hitmen and headliner Clutch Cargo.
These bands have donated their time and talent to raise money for people with developmental disabilities at the Center of Hope.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and the bands will start at 5:30 p.m.
OSF Health Plans has donated the use of its hot air balloon beginning at 5 p.m., and rides will give a thrilling birds eye view of the whole event. Tickets for tethered balloon rides will be $15. There will also be a chance to win an exciting tether-free sunrise flight for up to six people during a raffle at Rock for the Center.
Rock for the Center will also feature a variety of outstanding food and a raffle that includes items such as a weekend getaway at the Clock Tower Resort, a season golf pass from the Rockford Park District, a season Magic Waters Pass and many other gifts. Door prizes will be raffled to all admission ticket holders.
Tickets are available at the Center of Hope Main Office, 3206 N. Central Ave.; The Centers North Towne location; or at any Alpine Bank for $7. Tickets at the gate will be $10. Children 12 and younger are free. Info: (815) 964-9275.
The Barbara Olson Center of Hope is a not-for-profit organization for people with special needs. The Center of Hope has been serving the Rock River Valley since 1948, and serves more than 260 participants.
