Come to President Lincoln’s Birthday Ball!

Battery G, 2nd Illinois Light Artillery invites the public to join them Saturday, Feb. 12, for a Civil War ball celebrating Abraham Lincoln’s 196th birthday.

The ball will be held at Memorial Hall, 211 N. Main St., Rockford. If you’re coming from out of town, take Business 20 into Rockford to Wyman Street, west of the river. Turn right (north) on Wyman to parking for the Hall. The Hall is across the street from Rockford Public Library.

A reception will be from 7 to 8 p.m., and live musical entertainment and dancing will begin at 8 p.m. and continue to 11 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. A photographer will be available. Period civilian or military dress is not required. Local hotels are available on East State Street for those wishing to stay overnight.
