Concerned Citizens of Northern Illinois to hold fund-raisers for Katrina victims

‘Song of the South’ events for Katrina victims set for Oct. 1 in Rochelle and Oct. 2 in Rockford

The community organization Concerned Citizens of Northern Illinois (formerly Lincoln Park Concerned Citizens) will host a series of fund-raisers to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. These events, called “Song of the South,” will be held Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2. The Oct. 1 event will be held at Da Place, 215 Lincoln Highway, Rochelle, from 6 to 10 p.m. The Oct. 2 event will be at Reverbs Terryoke, 4303 W. State St., Rockford, from 3 to 9 p.m.

Donation is $7 per person and $10 per couple. All proceeds will go to the Salvation Army, and clothing and non-perishable items will also be collected.
