The Rock Valley Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (RV-ASTD), a non-profit professional organization, is offering the business community an opportunity to attend a conference titled Planning, Leading, and Achieving Results in the Workplace to assist area businesses in improving employee performance. This conference will be on Wednesday, May 12 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will be held at NIU Rockford Education Center, 8500 E. State St.
Attendees will choose three interactive workshops from a total of nine offered. In addition there is an optional bonus session from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The workshops will be facilitated by leading training and learning experts and will provide valuable information you can use on-the-job.
The PLANNING track workshops include: Assessing Culture for Performance Improvement by James W. Schreier, The Organizations Role in Learning Management by Michael G. West, and Strategically Aligned Training by Don Overbey. The LEADING track workshops include: Leading the Way to Learning by Christie Mason, High Impact Training by Laura Ford, and Helping People Learn Quickly and With Retention by Carolyn B. Thompson. The ACHIEVING track workshops include: Business From Knowledge by Daniel J. Trudell, The Emerging Role of the HRD Practitioner by Christina Kamer, and Integrated Performance Strategies by Douglas Peters.
