Contact of Rockford unveils online services

Contact announces a launch presentation of at the Holiday Inn of Rockford on East State and Bell School Road on March 18 and March 31. Three presentations will be held each day at 7:30 a.m., noon and 3:30 p.m.

Contact has provided HelpLine services since 1972 with a core group born from Court Street United Methodist Church. For many years, dialing 815-636-5005 for the InfoLine or 815-636-5000 for the HelpLine provided callers with a 24/7/365 access to information and referral by a supportive, caring listener on the other end of the phone. Now the same support is available online.

Don’t know where to go to meet your needs? Does your aging mother need energy assistance? Does your child need day care? Does someone you know need rent assistance, clothing, food or shelter? Need help with Alzheimer’s care? Abuse? Depression? Support groups? Volunteer opportunities? It’s all there.

Public access allows a service, agency or program to be quickly located with a phone number, e-mail and Web site address that can be identified in a simple public search entry online. You can enter, type in your issue, keyword or search item and be provided with all available agencies and programs in the area that offer information and/or assistance for that issue.

In addition to public access, agencies, churches, non-profit organizations, government offices and professionals will also be able to utilize a more comprehensive private use section by subscription only. This private access section is accessed by a login username and password. Cost is a $125 license per year.
