CONTACT to hold ‘Autumn in Vienna’ fashion fund-raiser

A delightful luncheon and fall fashion show will be held at Cliffbreakers Restaurant on Saturday, Oct. 23, to benefit Contact—First Call for Help, the local HelpLine for crisis intervention and mental health issues and InfoLine, the information and referral line serving Boone, Ogle and Winnebago counties since 1972. Rockford Memorial Hospital is the major sponsor for this year’s event.

The silent auction will open at 11 a.m. filled with great bargains for the hearty shopper. Mike Robinson will be the MC, and local celebrity models will feature the latest warm weather wear, from Sarah McClelland’s and Carlottas. Mediterranean chicken and vegetables will be served at noon with dessert included. The fashion show will begin at 1 p.m. Raffle tickets may be purchased prior to the event and at the event for an exquisitely cut 17-carat amethyst snuggled securely in one-of-a-kind 18-carat white and pink gold setting with 3/4 carat of accenting princess cut diamonds, valued at more than $3,700. This was designed exclusively for Contact by B. Sanfield’s Chris Anderson.

Proceeds from this event will be directed toward supporting and expanding Contact’s services to the region as a 33-year-old non-profit organization fully reliant on community funding. Contact receives more than 15,000 calls annually from those seeking help for mental health or basic necessities. Information and referral provides vital links to appropriate agencies and programs to best help solve a caller’s needs.

Local volunteers provide the human content as “Someone who listens, someone who cares,” 24/7, 365 days every year.

Donations for tickets are $5 for one chance and $10 for three chances. You need not be present to win. For additional donation information, call CONTACT InfoLine at 636-5005.
