County names Earl Dotson Jr. deputy administrator

Winnebago County Board Chairman Scott Christiansen recently announced the appointment of Earl Dotson Jr. as deputy administrator in the County Board office. The position had been vacant since August 2005.

A native of Rockford, Dotson brings a wealth of experience and leadership to this position. He received his bachelor of arts degree in political science from Northern Illinois University, and worked for many years in the banking and finance industry, and as a substitute teacher. For five years, Dotson was a juvenile probation officer.

In his current position as director of the Win-CART program, Dotson has created and implemented a very successful multifunctional, government customer service program. The Win-CART program assists the taxpayers of the community by answering questions on County services and helping them to connect with the appropriate County offices for assistance.

Under the direction of Christiansen, Dotson is chairman of a committee to develop and execute a new Web site for Winnebago County; he coordinates the publication of the employee newsletter, County Chatter; he continues as chairman of the Win-CART Committee, made up of representatives from various County departments; and he has worked on organizing town hall meetings and numerous community projects and special events.
