Everyone is invited to the Second Annual Garden Bazaar at Court Street United Methodist Church in downtown Rockford from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, May 18, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 19.
For sale will be perennials from church members gardens and new, quality hanging baskets in all varieties, plus flats of annuals, including some vegetables and herbs. A bake sale with homemade baked goods made by church members will also be held, along with a craft sale and a silent auction (bidding stops at noon, Saturday, and you need not be present to win).
Both days from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be an eat-in or carry-out luncheon featuring Court Streets award-winning barbecue sandwiches, voted best entree at the 2005 On the Waterfront festival. The cost of the luncheon is $5, which includes a barbecue sandwich (sloppy joe), chips and a pop. New this year will be cheesecake with a variety of toppings for dessert!
Admission to the bazaar is free. Court Street United Methodist Church, 215 N. Court St., is in downtown Rockford one block north of the courthouse (or just three blocks west of the river and one block north of West State Street).
