Cruise 06, The SwedishAmerican Medical Foundations biggest fundraising event of the year, will be Saturday, March 4, at Giovannis Restaurant and Convention Center.
Celebrating its 12th anniversary, the Cruise event offers an elegant evening of music, dancing, a dazzling array of food, a raffle and a silent auction.
Steel Express, a steel drum band from Chicago, will greet guests who will then visit ports-of-call featuring foods of Italy, Ireland, Asia and Mexico. Dessert Island is always one of the most popular ports.
Throughout the evening, guests can bid on an array of silent auction items. In addition, winners of an on-site raffle with a variety of prizes including $500 cash will be drawn later in the evening. From 9 p.m. to midnight, guests can dance the night away to the sounds of local DJ David Miller.
Proceeds from Cruise 06 will benefit The SwedishAmerican Medical Foundations Community Impact Endowment Fund. Last year, Cruise 05 raised more than $105,000.
The Cruise 06 committee includes John Mecklenburg, Dr. Henry and Dorothy Anderson, John Quinn, Carol Evans, Barbara Shirk, Carole Dolan, Kathy Clayton, Michele Adams, Melody Pobjecky, and Jan Hagenlocher.
Tickets for Cruise 06 are $175 per couple. Special sponsorship packages are also available. For further information, contact the SwedishAmerican Medical Foundation at 961-2496.
