Crusader Clinic announces success of its capital campaign

Crusader Clinic announces the successful conclusion of its $4.8 million Capital Campaign and the fulfillment of its pledge to raise $600,000 as a 2-to-1 match by May 31, 2007, to a $300,000 Challenge Grant from The Kresge Foundation.

Crusader Clinic’s Capital Campaign “Shaping the Future of Community Healthcare in Northern Illinois,” was begun in 2005 and had prominent community volunteer Dan Loescher as chairman.

The campaign supports major renovations and infrastructure upgrades to Crusader’s two Rockford facilities—Crusader Clinic at West State Street and the Crusader Clinic on Broadway-Uram Building to address growing demand for quality, affordable primary health care. The improvements, which include developing 8,435 square feet of unused space at the Broadway-Uram Building into a new family health center with 12 exam rooms and a prenatal care wing, will accommodate 5,200 more patients and 15,000 patient visits per year and enhance services for all Crusader patients.

With two facilities in Rockford and one both in Belvidere and Freeport, Crusaders Central Clinic Association provides primary health care to low-income and at-risk populations. It has served the Rock River Valley region since 1972 as a Federally Qualified Community Health Center.
