Crusader Clinic expands dental care for children in Belvidere

Crusader Clinic has announced the opening of the children’s dental care center at Crusader Clinic, Belvidere, 1050 Logan Ave.

“This new dental clinic will greatly expand access to oral health for children, many who have not been able to access dental care due to cost and availability,” noted Gordon Eggers Jr., interim president and CEO, Crusader Clinic. The Clinic is grateful to the Illinois Children’s Health Foundation for supporting the cost of the dental buildout that includes four operatories and dental equipment. The full-time dental clinic has four dental operatories and is staffed by a dentist and two assistants who provide preventive exams, fillings, cleanings and emergency treatment for children younger than 18.

A check was presented by TDS Metrocom and the Rockford Lightning, who teamed up to support Crusader Clinic with “Stealing for Healing.” During this past season, anytime a Lightning player nabbed a steal, TDS Metrocom donated $10 to Crusader Clinic.

Also, the Belvidere High School Zonta Club and the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois were recognized for their support of the pediatric design project as part of the In Youth We Trust grant. The Rotary Club of Belvidere, as part of the Centennial Year of Rotary International, was recognized for their support.
