Damon's Grill in Rockford and RRVBC team up to thank donors

Beginning this week, blood donors who register to donate to the Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC) will receive a coupon for a free appetizer from Damon’s Grill in Rockford. Anyone who attempts to donate at a blood drive or donor center will be given a coupon.

Damon’s Grill, in Rockford, approached the blood center and offered the coupons as a way to help thank the blood donors who give the gift of life every day in our community.

“We feel very grateful to community partners, like Damon’s Grill, that provide us with ways to say thank you to the dedicated donors that help to save lives right here in the Rock River Valley,” said Jennifer Bowman, RRVBC, public relations manager.

RRVBC is the sole supplier of blood and related services to OSF Saint Anthony, Rockford Memorial, SwedishAmerican, Beloit Memorial, Freeport Health Network, Harvard Memorial, Memorial Community and Rochelle Community hospitals. Nine hundred donors are needed each week to meet area hospital demands. Community-minded volunteers donate virtually all of this country’s supply of blood for transfusion.

The blood center has locations in Rockford and Freeport. RRVBC will open a second Rockford location on Perryville Road this spring. For more information, contact RRVBC toll-free at 866-889-9073 or on the web at www.rrvbc.org.
