Dance Source presents Snow White


G.A.R.’s The Dance Source Unltd. & Company will present their third annual production of Snow White on May 17, 18 and 19 at the Belvidere High School Performing Arts Center, 1500 East. Ave., Belvidere.

The Brothers Grimm classic folk tale will be brought to life through movements of classical ballet and tap. Come and experience the splendor with 50 local young dancers performing. Highlighted again in this year’s performance will be resident guest artist Marie Hanson as the Evil Queen, and Keelan Whitmore, a Rockford native now dancing professionally with the Kansas City Ballet, as Prince Charming.

New performers are Natalie Randall, Belvidere, and Erica Swanson, Roscoe, alternating the coveted title role of Snow White. Friday, May 17 at 9:30 a.m. will be a special school matinee performance. Schools or other organizational groups may call for details if interested.

A Saturday, May 18 matinee performance will be at 1 p.m., followed by a “Candy Apple” party, at an additional charge, for youngsters interested in meeting some of the cast for autographs and a picture. An evening performance will be given at 7 p.m. with a silent auction fundraiser.

A Sunday, May 19 matinee performance will be at 2 p.m. with another silent auction fundraiser.

Ticket prices are adults, $10; children (under 12) and seniors, $8, and children (under 3) are free. Group rates are also available.
