For the second week in a row, former Roscoe resident and 2005 Indy Racing League Rookie of the Year Danica Patrick finished an Indy Racing League race in the eighth position. This week, it came at the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix.

Due to wet conditions in qualifying, Patrick was forced to start the race in the 16th position. After going a lap down, she was able to battle her way back to eighth by the end of the timed event.

In four of her five starts this season, Patrick has finished in the top 10. She is tied with Kosuke Matsuura for seventh in the points race. They are both 75 points behind leader Helio Castroneves.

For the second consecutive year at Watkins Glen, Scott Dixon was able to claim victory. After starting the race in the fourth spot, Dixon was able to finish almost a full 2.5 seconds ahead of runner-up Vitor Meira.

This Saturday, June 10, Patrick and her fellow competitors will be at Texas Motor Speedway for the Texas 500. Race begins at 8 p.m. and is televised on ESPN.
