The Blues Foundation has nominated the singer/guitarist for a Blues Music Award for Best New Artist Debut.
The Crossroads Blues Society of Northern Illinois will co-sponsor the first Rockford appearance by SwingNation Records recording artist Dave Gross Thursday, March 8, at Big Cities Lounge, 905 E. State St., in Rockford. Cost is $5 at the door. The music will start at 9 p.m.
Gross has been nominated for Blues Music Award in the Best New Artist Debut category for his latest release, Take the Gamble. The awards are presented annually by the Blues Foundation, based in Memphis.
Gross is an engaging singer and talented guitarist who mixes a blues feel with swing-style jazz rhythms to form a potent mix of great music. On stage, he delivers an electrifying performance that captivates the audience.
Appearing with Dave will be his special guest, singer Gina Sicilia. Her vocal talent is showcased on her new SwingNation release, Allow Me To Confess. This outstanding recording, produced by Dave Gross, immediately establishes her as one of the best young artists in the blues music field.
