Chocolate and ice cream are all mixed together for an afternoon of fun when Discovery Center hosts its annual Valentines treat, Chocolate Sundae Sunday, scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 12.
Families will have fun creating and eating their own chocolate sundae concoctions. Children can take a chocolate taste test and express their creativity by making valentines and other make-and-take art projects. Chocolate lovers will enjoy it all while listening to the spirited jazz sounds of the Dixieland Docs.
Chocolate Sundae Sunday is sponsored by Dean Foods. Admission is $2 per person, public and $1.50 per person, Museum members. Admission to the Museum is separate. The event is part of the Winter Rocks in the Rockford Region campaign.
Discovery Center Museum is inside Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St. General admission to the Museum is $5 adults, $4 children (ages 2 to 17) and free to children younger than 2 and Museum members. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday; noon to 5 p.m., Sunday.
