Discovery Center to host ‘Busy Winter Days’

Over the holidays, Discovery Center will host “Busy Winter Days.” Families can participate in hands-on holiday activities for children and adults of all ages, Dec. 22-23 and 26-30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Cost is included with Discovery Center admission: $4 adults, $3 children (ages 2 to 17), free to children younger than 2 years and Museum members.

Discovery Center Museum is inside Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St. Holiday hours are as follows:

Tuesday, Dec. 23—Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve)—Open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day)—Closed

Friday, Dec. 26—Sunday, Dec. 28: Open regular hours

Monday, Dec. 29—Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 31 (New Years Eve Day)—Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004 (New Years Day)—Closed.

The Museum will resume its regular hours of operation on Friday, Jan. 2: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday; noon to 5 p.m., Sunday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, if the day is a Rockford Public School holiday.

Discovery Center Museum offers more than 250 hands-on exhibits for exploration of science and art. Also included with Museum admission, now through Feb. 29, 2004, is the interactive traveling exhibition, “Body Carnival: The Science and Fun of Being You!”, which explores how physical science principles are continuously at work in the human body.
