Discovery Center transforms into Hogwarts

Saturday, April 22 event offers magical good time for fans of Harry Potter

Come dressed as your favorite Harry Potter character and join Discovery Center Museum for a magical good time as the Museum is transformed into Hogwarts from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, April 22.

Young wizard apprentices and their families are invited to attend an open house at Hogwarts and take part in a defense against the dark arts class taught by Gilderoy Lunkhead and a musical magic class with Professor Lutestring.

Visitors can also test their skills at quidditch, play with unusual potions, decorate a dragon and sample refreshments. Wizard apprentices should bring their Muggle parents for a magically fun family time.

Advance admission to Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Happening is $5 for the public (adults and children) and $3 for members (adults and children). Admission at the door is $8 for the public and $6 for members. Admission also includes access to Discovery Center Museum and all exhibits. Advance reservations can be made by calling 963-6769 by Thursday, April 20.

Discovery Center Museum is inside Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., Rockford. General admission to the Museum is: $5 adults, $4 children (ages 2 to 17) and free to children younger than 2 and Museum members. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday; noon to 5 p.m., Sunday.
