The Rockford IceHogs return to the MetroCentre tonight (Wednesday, Nov. 15) looking for a little home ice love as they take on the Fort Wayne Comets.
The Hogs were swept last weekend on the road, losing Friday nights (Nov. 10) game to Port Huron, 6-3, and Saturday nights (Nov. 11) game to Muskegon, 5-2.
Tonights game begins at 7:30 p.m., and is the first Wednesday home game of the season. This year, all Wednesday home games are Dollar Days. Hot dogs, peanuts, soda and select candy items will be on sale for $1 each.
The Hogs will be in action at home again Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17-18. Fans will have their first opportunity this season to see the Bloomington Prairie Thunder at the MetroCentre. The game begins at 7:30 p.m., and is Support the Troops night.
All fans who attend the Friday game are encouraged to bring items to donate for care packages that will be sent to active military members who will be away from their families during the upcoming holiday season.
Items needed are toiletries, calling cards, books, batteries and much more. Fans can get a complete list of items at www.icehogs.com. Any fan donating an item at the game will receive a voucher for a free $9 ticket to the Dec. 13 game against Bloomington.
The first 1,000 fans 12 and younger will receive a youth hockey stick at Saturday nights game against the Kalamazoo Wings. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Fans can pre-order tickets for any upcoming home game by calling the IceHogs box office at 968-5222. For every $13 or $16 ticket pre-ordered for the Support the Troops night game, the IceHogs will make a $4 donation to help send care packages overseas.
