This is a great opportunity for my family and friends to work together on an easy, environmentally-friendly project, said Jane Snively, president of Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful. Im always surprised by the number of bags we take to the Clothing Drive.
According to Lori Gummow, executive director of Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful, each Clothing Drive brings in more than 100,000 pounds of clothing and soft goods from stateline-area residents. Since the clothing drives started in October 2000, area residents have donated more than 1.5 million pounds of clothing and soft goods in the three yearly clothing drives.
Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful relies significantly on local volunteers to make these drives happen. Anyone interested in volunteering for a three-hour shift should call (815) 637-1343, or visit www.knib.org.
