Earth Day celebration


Applications are now being accepted for booth participants at this year’s Earth Day celebration, to be Saturday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake. This fun-filled event includes educational booths, entertainment, games, and much more, in an exciting, family-oriented environment.

The educational booths cover a wide range of topics, including water quality, native plants, solar power, organic gardening, “green” cleaning products, waste reduction, land use planning, and conservation practices.

The event is brought to you by representatives from a number of local conservation organizations, including the McHenry County Defenders, the McHenry County Conservation District, the McHenry County Conservation Foundation, the McHenry County Schools Environmental Education Program, the Land Foundation of McHenry County, the Lou Marchi Total Recycling Institute of McHenry County College, and the Back Porch Benefit Foundation.
