DEKALBThe House Café will play host to Eef Barzeley with Inspector Owl at 8 p.m., Saturday, April 22. Tickets are $8 for this all-ages show.
Eef Barzelay will perform a solo acoustic set of songs from his new, two-part LP, Bitter Honey. The singer/songwriter of alt-country band Clem Snide has extracted the tenderness and introspection of previous work, and bared his sound and soul for a tender, introspective collection of tunes that showcase his abilities.
Clem Snide formed in 1991, and gained momentum when featured in TV shows, national radio and video game soundtracks.
Inspector Owl have been gathering devoted Owlets as they fly through Midwest cities. The synth-drums-guitar combo check pretension at the door and modernize dancy rock. Axe-man/chanteuse/beep-maker Corey Wills strums the captivating hooks, while gentleman Jesse Fisher pounds out the precision rhythm. Throw in the mix the bass-slinging dynamo that is Jason Thompson, and you truly have something to marvel.
Also performing are Heligoats (Chris Otepka of Troubled Hubble) and Surround Sound.
