Effects of whitetail deer over-browsing

Increasing: Garlic mustard

Whitetail deer eat the flowering stems of trillium, shooting stars and bluebells leaving fewer plants to produce seeds and clearing the way for garlic mustard and other non-native plants to invade.

Decreasing: Warbler populations

According to the National Audubon Society, the Kentucky Warbler populations are already threatened due to loss of forest understory from deer over-browsing.
