‘Emerging Artist Exhibition’ at Rockford Art Museum

Rockford Art Museum’s Young@Art group is sponsoring its Second Annual Emerging Artists Exhibition. Open to adult artists new to exhibiting their work, this event offers a unique opportunity for them to show and sell their work. Whether you are a college student, a passionate, self-taught artist, or a retired enthusiast, you are eligible to apply.

The Young@Art, an auxiliary group of the Rockford Art Museum, was founded in 1991 to promote local artists who are new to the art scene. This exhibition offers them the opportunity to question and network with established artists and collectors. To encourage new artists, the Best of Show prize is automatic acceptance in the 2004 Greenwich Village Art Fair, with all fees waived.

Artists need to submit three slides or photos of their work, along with the entry form, to the “Emerging Artist Exhibition” c/o the museum by the March 31 deadline. These will be juried, and notification of acceptance will be sent to the artist by April 26. The Exhibition takes place in the Assembly Hall of the Rockford Art Museum from noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 16. Setup starts at 9 a.m., and judging will be at 11 a.m. There is no entry fee.
