Energy efficiency seminar coming to Rock Valley College

Reducing the cost of energy is very important to a local organization. Hybrid Renewables, Inc., of Garden Prairie, has been busy preparing for its Energy Efficiency seminar to be held at Rock Valley College, Thursday, Oct. 26. The program will run from 7 to 9 p.m.

Representatives from six local businesses will share information about how to reduce the cost of energy. According to Len Salvig of Hybrid Renewables, seminar attendees will be supplied with ample information and many handouts to assist them in learning about leading energy efficient lifestyles. He also stressed that the presentations from the six businesses are not going to be sales presentations. The seminar will be strictly an information-based program. Regional Energy Director Robert Lindstrom will act as moderator for the event.

Those attending will learn tips on proper insulation, tax rebates, energy-efficient mortgage loans and geothermal energy uses. A question-and-answer session will also follow. Seminar presenters will also be on hand to meet with attendees on a individual basis.

The seminar will be in the Woodward Technology Center, room 141. More information can be obtained by calling Jim Carey at 871-8318.
