Everything is coming up roses!

Interested in growing roses? Already growing roses but without much success? Join Jean and Mary Ewaldz, Consulting Rosarians for the American Rose Society and Winnebago County Master Gardeners, for a special program on how to successfully grow roses.

Attendees will learn which rose varieties are best suited for the Rockford area, how to prepare soil, pruning techniques and general care of roses. Eliminate the fear and frustration that surrounds rose gardening. This program will put even the most beginner gardener on his way to having an enviable rose garden. This program includes a slide presentation.

“Everything is Coming Up Roses” is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. at Midway Village and Museum Center. There is no fee to attend. This program is open to the public. To register call the University of Illinois Extension at 815-986-4357. Registration deadline is Feb. 19. This program is provided by the University of Illinois Extension, Winnebago County office.
