Excite look for revenge against Thunder March 10

The Cincinnati Excite will look for revenge when they come to the Indoor Sports Center Saturday night, March 10, to take on the Rockford Thunder.

Saturday, March 3, the two American Indoor Soccer League teams played before the largest crowd of the season at the Game Time Training Center in Fairfield, Ohio. The Thunder embarrassed the Excite 12-6 in front of the record-setting hometown crowd of 798.

Bato Radoncic led the Thunder; he tallied four 1-point goals and three assists. Teammates Zlato Zebic, Radu Giurgiu, and Roberto Gallo joined him in the scoring column. They each added two goals. One of Gallo’s was worth 2 points.

The offensive outpouring came as Thunder defender Mike “Mr. Assist” Rigas filled in for head coach Jeff Kraft. Rigas said, “This was great, but obviously, I’d much rather play.” Kraft was serving a one-game suspension for receiving a red card in last week’s game.

The Thunder are 7-4 so far this season, and will meet the Excite for the third time in three weeks this Saturday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
