Family Counseling Services of Northern Illinois is proud to sponsor the Committed Couples Workshop, which will be held six consecutive evenings, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., beginning Oct. 26. Committed Couples will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 N. First St., Rockford, and is open to most premarital, unmarried and married couples 18 and older in Winnebago, Boone and Ogle counties. It is designed to be pertinent to couples of all backgrounds.
Couples participating in the workshops will learn skills and strategies for healthy, enduring relationships. Workshop objectives include enhancing committed relationships through knowledge and skills, gaining a better understanding of risk factors and identifying those who can be changed, and beginning the process of self-discovery using the self-focus approach.

Oct. 26Hour 1: Taking a Positive Attitude; Hour 2: Simple Techniques for Talking Safely & Clearly
Nov. 2Hour 3: Handling Your Issues; Hour 4: Solving Your Problems
Nov. 9Hour 5: Great Ground Rules for a Great Relationship; Hour 6: Having Fun
Nov. 16Hour 7: Enhancing Your Love Life; Hour 8: Sharing Values & Core Beliefs
Nov. 23Hour 9: Meeting Expectations; Hour 10: Forgiving
Nov. 30Hour 11: Being Friends; Hour 12: Making the Commitment.
