All tours of Tinker Swiss Cottage feature hands-on baskets so visitors of all ages can get up close and personal with select items that help illustrate everyday life a century ago.
Throughout the school year, monthly Family Day activities give the younger and older generations a chance to connect learning about history together. Different crafts or activities, all with a connection to the Tinker family and the era in which they lived are featured each month. Family Day is the second Sunday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m., September-April. Tours begin on the hour at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Activities are included with regular admission.
Admission is $1 for children ages 5 and older, $4 for adults, and $3.50 for seniors. Children 5 years old and younger are admitted at no charge. Tinker Swiss Cottage is at 411 Kent St., Rockford. Information: 964-2424.
