Fingerstyle guitarist at Memorial Hall Nov. 28

Charlotte’s Web presents premier woman fingerstyle guitarist Muriel Anderson at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Memorial Hall, 211 N. Main St., Rockford. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.

Anderson is a 1989 winner of the National Fingerpicking Guitar Championship. From Japanese koto music and Irish reels to Bach minuets and Roger Miller’s “King of the Road,” Muriel shows a passion for music and oneness with the instrument.

Anderson’s classical training (Chet Atkins, Christopher Parkening) provides the technique which, combined with a gentle sense of humor, has endeared her to audiences worldwide. She is also the founder of the Music for Life Alliance, a non-profit organization that works to provide underprivileged children with musical instruments.
