First Boone County Children’s Health Fair

Belvidere Family YMCA and the Belvidere Spine and Posture Clinic will host the First Boone County Children’s Health Fair, sponsored by Belvidere National Bank, from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 21. Location is the Belvidere Family YMCA, 220 W. Locust St. (indoors and outdoors).

This event is for children of all ages and their families. The purpose is to bring all aspects of a child’s health and safety together in one convenient location at one time, and have fun. Everything is free. Activities include: Cosmo Kids Fun Run at 9 a.m. (for ages 12 and younger, first 100 kids get a free T-shirt); inflatable jumping games (options for little and big kids); face painting and crafts; open swim, open gym (after the fair); pictures with local mascots (Rocko the RiverHawk and McGruff, the Crime Dog, etc.); meet local figures (policemen, firemen, varsity athletes); free hot dogs and burgers; prizes/giveaways; B103 live remote.

Police and fire departments will be there for finger printing/pictures, car seat checks and more. The Boone County Health Department nurses will be on hand providing childhood immunizations free of charge, courtesy of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. (Parents must be there and have the child’s immunization records.)
