Fish fry to support 30-hour famine and youth programs

Zion Lutheran Church, 925 Fifth Ave., will host a fish fry from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3. The dinner will be held in the church fellowship hall. The requested donation for the meal is $10 for adults and $5 for children younger than 12. The public is invited to attend. For reservations, call Zion Church at 964-4609.

Chef Joel Kaplan, former owner of Joel’s Restaurant on North Main Street, will prepare baked and fried cod as well as baked, blackened and pan-seared tilapia. There will be a lemon pepper chicken breast for those who don’t eat fish. In addition, there is a “fish trio”—blackened tilapia, baked tilapia and fried cod.

This event will raise funds for the 30-hour famine the Zion Youth Group holds annually to benefit world hunger and for their mission trip this summer.
