Forest Glen to give complimentary tickets to Irish Fest

As in prior years, Forest Glen, Rockford’s premier apartment community, located on McFarland Road south of Riverside Drive, is a proud sponsor of Milwaukee Irish Fest, which is known to be the largest and best Irish fest in the world. This year, Milwaukee Irish Fest will be held August 16-19 (Thursday through Sunday). There will be a wide variety of music and dance at any one time, all being held on 16 stages along Milwaukee’s beautiful lakefront and fair grounds.

Forest Glen is gifting a limited number of Milwaukee Irish Fest tickets to the residents of the Rockford area. Tickets will be limited to two per household. For complimentary tickets, stop by the Forest Glen clubhouse just off McFarland Road. At the same time, you will be able to see a brochure of this year’s Irish Fest, including a complete schedule of concerts and events. Alternatively, you can visit the Fest’s web page at

Also on Forest Glen’s list of sponsorships is the Forest Glen World-Music Concert Series, which has included seven not-for-profit, benefit world-music concerts held in Rockford over the past four years. Such concerts have included the very best musicians in the world, including: Patrick Street, La Bottine Souriante, Natalie MacMaster and her band, Altan, Skyedance, and Sharon Shannon and her band. The concerts have received excellent reviews by members of the press and audiences.

Forest Glen will present Lunasa on Saturday night, March 9, 2002, at the recently renovated, beautiful, historic Coronado Theatre. This concert will be Forest Glen’s prelude to St. Patrick’s Day. Lunasa is a five-person band from Ireland and plays some of the most exciting and melodic music that exists. Lunasa is considered to be the hottest and best new Irish band in the world. Reserved seating will go on sale through Centre Events box offices and at The Tin Whistle, 1414 N. Main St., starting December 8, just in time for holiday gifts.
