Fourth of July SkyConcert set for Davis Park

The B103 SkyConcert Skybox Fourth of July festival will be at Davis Park in downtown Rockford from 6 p.m. to midnight. For a $5 cover charge, guests will have “a great view from the Great Lawn” for SkyConcert 2005.

“SkyConcert is a phenomenal 30-minute fireworks display that is synchronized to music heard exclusively on B103 (103.1FM),” said Michelle Marcomb, promotions director for Maverick Media of Rockford. “B103 is excited to be a partner with the Fourth of July Committee for another SkyConcert party at Davis Park, as all of the proceeds raised each year are donated directly to the committee to help fund the fireworks show.”

“With the SkyConcert Skybox at Davis Park, families can enjoy a safe, unobstructed viewing area for one of Illinois’ biggest fireworks shows!” said Doug Daniels, program director for B103. “Not only can residents and visitors come down, beat the traffic, and enjoy premiere viewing of the fireworks display, but this year’s soundtrack is bigger and better than ever.”

There will be no advance ticket sales. SkyConcert SkyBox will be limited to 5,000 people. Children 5 and younger get in free. Patrons are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs, but outside food and beverages are not allowed in the park. Visit for more information.
