Free gynecological exams and mammograms for African-American women

In recognition of Minority Health Month, African-American women between the age of 40-64 who do not have medical coverage and are considered low income can call the Winnebago County Health Department’s Illinois Breast and Cervical Program at 972-7250, to make an appointment for free gynecological exam and a free mammogram.

The free screening will be offered Saturday, April 1 and on Saturday, April 15, from 8 a.m. to noon. Women who are eligible for this program may also bring in their significant man with them to the clinic, and he will receive a free PSA Blood Screening. The National Kidney Foundation will also be on site offering free kidney screening. Again, appointments are required for this clinic, and can be made by calling 972-7250.

This program is sponsored by the Winnebago County Health Department, SwedishAmerican Hospital, Rockford Health System, Rockford Regional Health Council, National Kidney Foundation and the Illinois Department of Public Health.
