Free wildlife food plot seed available

FREEPORT—The Highland Chapter Pheasants Forever and Stephenson Soil & Water Conservation District are accepting orders for those interested in food plot seed for wildlife food and cover plantings. The 50-pound bags are corn or milo/sorghum. It takes 20 pounds to plant one acre. The seed costs $5 per 50 pound bag to cover shipping costs. This seed is to be used only for wildlife purposes.

Go to the SWCD office at 1620 S. Galena Ave., Freeport, to sign up for the seed. Orders will be taken until March 31. The pick-up will be approximately around the second week of April. You will be notified when the seed is available. For additional information, call 815-235-2161, ext. 3.
