Freeport High Class of 1977 plans reunion

FREEPORT—The year was 1977. Top songs included “Hotel California” by The Eagles and “Sir Duke” by Stevie Wonder. The median household income was $13,572, and a first-class stamp cost 13 cents. At the box office, top movies were Saturday Night Fever and Star Wars.

Thirty years later, the Freeport High School Class of 1977 will share these and other memories at their 30th Reunion, Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Masonic Temple Ballroom, 305-315 W. Stephenson St., Freeport.

A social hour with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dinner will be served from 7 to 8:30 p.m. DJ Richie Tobin will provide music for dancing from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

The cost is $60 per couple (with dinner) and $40 per single (with dinner). People can also pay $10 each at the door after 8:30 p.m. Reservations for dinner must be received by Aug. 17.
