Fund-raiser for flood victims set for Oct. 4

Aldermen Lenny Jacobson, Nancy Johnson, Frank Beach, Dan Conness, State Sen. Dave Syverson and the Illinois Licensed Beverage Association are co-chairing a fund-raiser to aid Labor Day flood victims.

All money raised will be used for grants to fund victims who have not already received assistance in reconstruction or rehabilitation of their homes.

Syverson said: “I have continually been amazed by the strength of Rockford residents, as they continue to clean up and rebuild after the flood. This fund-raiser is an opportunity for us to continue our support and help individuals who are not already receiving assistance.”

The fund-raiser will be from 6 to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Teamsters Hall, 5533 11th St., Rockford. The evening will feature music, pizza, beverages, raffle prizes and entertainment. Admission is $5. Tickets will be available at the event.

To support the Labor Day flood victims, send contributions to the ILBA or to any of the event co-chairmen.
