‘Garden in the Gallery’

n Art Show: Ingrid Dohm, Artist-in-Residence til June 27

Rockford artist Ingrid Dohm creates a painted garden in the Artist-in- Residence studio in Anderson Gallery from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 16-27. Members of the community are invited to observe the artist as she fills large canvas-covered walls with flowers and garden scenes. The painted garden will remain on view through the Greenwich Village Art Fair Sept.13 and 14.

Group visits to observe the artist are encouraged. Special tours and activities are planned during Dohm’s residency. A “Garden in the Gallery” tour includes a presentation by the artist about both the project and her work as an artist as well as a hands-on painting activity led by Rockford Art Museum’s Education Specialist Mindy Nixon.

Visitors also have the opportunity to view the current exhibition, Flora: The Beauty of Botanicals in Art in the Funderburg Gallery as part of the tour.

“Garden in the Gallery” is partially supported by a grant from the Rockford Area Arts Council, which receives support from the city of Rockford, the Illinois Arts Council and its members.
