Just as hope springs eternal, so does the desire to have a beautiful bed of flowers or a healthy garden of vegetables to add beauty and bounty to your life and home.
Some help from those in the know could make the difference. Rock Valley College and the University of Illinois Extension have again brought together some of the most talented horticulture and gardening experts for the 27th Annual Gardening for Food and Fun on Saturday, March 6, at the RVC Stenstrom Center.
From more than 20 instructional sessions, you can choose Starting Seeds 101; Growing Fruit Trees in Home Gardens; Gardening with Perennials; Landscape Borders; or Cooking with Herbs and Spices. Check-in opens at 8:30 a.m. with sessions starting at 9 a.m. and exhibits and shopping all day. Lunch is also available. Registrations, which can be for workshops and lunch or workshop only, must be made in advance. Please call (815) 921-2908.
RVCs Stenstrom Center is on Samuelson Road next to Jefferson High School. For more information, contact Barb Larson of the U of I Extension, at (815) 986-4357 or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
