The Rockford Area Music Industry (RAMI) will hold a Celebrating RockfordOne Note at a Time benefit Saturday, March 4, at the Verdi Club, 782 N. Madison St., Rockford.
Proceeds from the benefit will be donated to the Gary S. Wilmer Memorial Scholarship Fund, named for RAMI co-founder and long-time music advocate Gary S. Wilmer.
The night will feature music, dancing and food. Raffles will be held during the evening. Prizes include a $250 Best Buy Gift Card, a Washburn electric guitar, gift baskets, cash prizes and more. The benefit opens at 5 p.m., with music by RetroActiv, Moondogs, Missing Links and Clutch Cargo starting at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $6 in advance, $8 at the door, and are available in advance at The Verdi Club, 782 N. Madison St.; Cumulus Broadcasting, 3901 Brendenwood Rd.; or by calling Dan at 229-7558.
Since 1997, more than $22,000 in scholarships has been given to deserving local graduating high school seniors. A mandatory requirement to obtain a scholarship is to pursue a music career. The fund is administered by the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois.
