Gospel Extravaganza June 24

H & W Production will present Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’s, of Tupelo, Miss., in a Gospel Extravaganza at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 24, at Auburn High School, 5110 Auburn St.

Also appearing will be two local groups, The New Royal Travelers and the Liberty Baptist Church Male Chorus. From Beloit, Wis., come The Christian Jubilees.

Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’s achieved national fame when they won five Stellar awards, winning every category in which they were nominated. The group released its debut song, “Love Will Go All the Way,” on MCG Records (Modern Classic Gospel) in 1998.

Founded in 1996, MCG includes industry pioneer James Ballard, president and CEO; producer, composer, arranger and musician Jerry Peters as vice president of A & R; and Louise Ballard-Garrett, vice president of administration and promotion.

The New Royal Travelers, Rockford’s young, exciting gospel group, consists of Jack Jefferson, manager; Anthony Grier, booking manager and lead guitarist; Dontrell Hannah, lead vocalist; Kevin Ellis, bass guitarist and baritone; Anthony Barnett, second lead guitarist and second tenor; Bennie Gordon, keyboards and second tenor; Lee Mosley, drummer; and Anthony Fort, new lead vocalist.
