The Chieftains, the best-known Irish band in the world, will perform at the historic Coronado Theatre in downtown Rockford, 314 N. Main St., at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 3. The concert is presented by the Rockford Coronado Concert Association.

Six-time Grammy winners and 19-time Grammy nominated, The Chieftains have performed in the leading concert halls, such as Carnegie Hall in New York and Symphony Center in Chicago. March 3, they will appear at the historic Coronado Theatre.
Formed in Dublin in 1962, the group has enjoyed a career that spans 43 years and 43 albums. The Chieftains are Irelands premier musical ambassadors and the most enduring and influential creative force in establishing the international appeal of Celtic Music.
Joining The Chieftains will be Liadan, a traditional Irish music group of six women.
The Rockford Coronado Concert Association has nearly 2,000 subscribers from northern Illinois. It is governed by a local volunteer board of directors, and has served the community since 1936.
