Habitat for Humanity Quilt Show Oct. 6-7

Habitat for Humanity of Ogle County will hold its annual Quilt Show Fund-raiser during the 2007 Autumn on Parade festival, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6-7. All proceeds from the show will benefit Habitat homes built within Ogle County. The show will be at the Oregon United Methodist Church, at the corner of Fourth and Jefferson streets, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m., Sunday. Admission is $3.

Quilts will be judged in six categories:

Antique—Older than 50 years (any technique)

Hand—Hand-pieced/appliquéd by hand and top stitched by hand

Machine/Hand—pieced/appliquéd by machine and top stitched by hand

Machine—Machine-pieced and top stitched by machine

Wallhanging—Any size smaller then bed quilts (any technique)

Miscellaneous—Table runners, pillows, clothing, etc. (any technique)

Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category. People’s Choice ribbon will also be awarded. Entry fee for items to be judged is $5, and there is no charge for display-only items.

Quilts may be registered and dropped off at the United Methodist Church Thursday, Oct. 4, from 3 to 6:30 p.m.
