Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts donations of used furniture

Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity (RAHFH) recently open a surplus and gently used building supply resale store at North Towne Mall.

The ReStore offers builders and the public the opportunity to donate new and “gently” used surplus building materials. The profits generated by the sale of donated items at the ReStore are used to fund RAHFH’s building program. In addition to raising needed funds for the building program, the ReStore helps the environment by recycling good, usable materials into use and keeping these items from adding to our landfills. Donations are tax deductible.

Quality used and surplus materials such as cabinets, unused carpet, countertops, doors, windows, light fixtures, lumber and hardware are accepted. For a complete listing of acceptable items, visit rockfordhabitat.org. Donations are accepted at the ReStore location by appointment, or items can be picked up from donors by ReStore volunteers.

Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity, incorporated in 1987, is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry that works in partnership with people in need of shelter.
